Cardiac Canes: Miami Has Another Insane Finish, Coming Back From Down 35-10 To Beat Cal

On a day where it seemed like every Top 10 team in the country was being exposed, Miami somehow escaped with its life and still undefeated record for a second week in a row. Following last week's Hail Mary debacle against Virginia Tech on the final play, the Hurricanes this time came all the way back from down 25 points in the second half to stun Cal, 39-38.

The Golden Bears had a 99 percent win probability as late as the 6:00 mark of the fourth quarter up 38-25 before Miami scored touchdowns on its final two possessions — as well as the two before that — to find a way to get the win in Berkeley. Cam Ward led the Hurricanes 92 yards in six plays and 1:16 in their final drive.

I think Miami is a very good football team, but they've also pulled a couple games out of their ass to be 6-0 instead of 4-2. That's what it takes sometimes, though. Nobody is complaining about any win on a day when several top-ranked teams went on the road in conference play and headed home with a loss.

If you want to beat this Hurricanes team, you better make damn sure you're winning by enough in the fourth quarter that Ward doesn't get the chance to have the ball in his hands with a chance to win it at the end, because he's a stone cold assassin.
